Atlantic School joins the # ReforestarLaEsperanzaaction
The Atlantic School gardens are now home to two more trees in tribute to the fire that ravaged 12 municipalities on the island of Tenerife this summer. Our school has joined the Reforest hope from school initiative, launched by the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands in order to support those affected by the fire that razed more than 14,000 hectares; in addition to raising awareness among the educational community to join forces and revitalize our archipelago.

The Minister of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands, Poli Suárez, encourages schools to participate in this initiative since "together", he says, "we can send a clear message, showing that from our classrooms and schools we are committed not only to academic training, but also to the formation of a responsible citizenry with the world around them. "

The students of 5EP were in charge of planting the tree and reading the manifesto of the Canarian versador Yeray Rodríguez Quintana.

Today the children of the Canary Islands sow a seed of hope, we want to transform the ash and smoke left by the flames of the fire, in commitment to the land in which we live.

With the trees we plant today we are rebuilding the mountains of the future: new trunks, new leaves and new branches, taller, greener...; new roots, stronger that feed on our commitment and love for these islands.

Today we firmly plant hope;
the hope that our pine preaches
than even facing the fire more harmful
greens and never gets tired of living.

Today we firmly plant trust;
that eight lands give strength, breath and life
and leave us the lesson well learned:
that we are a sum of nuances
and let's grow, each with its roots,
but always giving shared shade.

In our kindergarten they have welcomed the initiative with the same joy and emotion. From early in the morning they left happily at garden with their showers, shovels and rakes to plant their little tree, which from now on they will have to take care of so that it grows healthy and strong; just like them.
