"THANK YOU, José Luis! How can we repay you for everything you have done? You came to Colegio Garoé, now Atlantic School, in 1986, leaving everything, even your beloved Gaztelueta. From day one, you set to work with generosity, simplicity and a deep educational vocation. You had a great teaching experience, but above all, a way of being that made it easy to work and grow together.
You were an assistant principal for many years and a close tutor, much loved by students, families and peers. You were able to transmit to us the joy of living the faith and of approaching God with naturalness and simplicity, always from understanding, mutual respect and affection for each person. Even after your retirement you continued to support the school from other areas, and you told us with grace: "I will rest when I reach the heavenly Homeland".
Your affable and conversational character, your great common sense, together with your coherence and sense of duty, soon made you a silent and constant reference. You also formed us with small gestures: picking up a piece of paper from the ground, listening patiently and always offering timely advice. You were undoubtedly an endearing companion who knew how to take care of everyone.
Today we thank God for your life, for your dedication and for the example you leave us. Your footprint lives on in our community, and we're confident you're already enjoying your well-deserved rest in Heaven. How much we owe you the families, students and everyone who knew you!
