Happy International Day of Families!

Today, May 15, is the International Day of Families. It was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 1994, in order to reflect the importance that the international community attaches to the family.
The UN recognizes and affirms the importance of the family as a privileged place for education. That is why the family is a whole school, the great school, in which children go developing their personality and forging their identity.
This year is celebrated in a special way. Confined since March 13 by Covid-19, it has been and is being a test for all families. Daily coexistence is not easy and in these circumstances parents will have tried to be an example for their children. We all know that the family is a fundamental pillar and now, more than ever, is when we must show them with actions the importance of taking care of it and of feeding the love that grows little by little in it. Communication is fundamental; active listening and talking with our children can serve to create a magnificent and magical bond with them. It is necessary to use positive words and use motivation as a tool or resource to bring out the best in our child. In this way, you we will be giving one of the best gifts you can receive.
The family is considered one of the most powerful emotional bonds. It is the place where our children go in search of solutions for their doubts and protection. All this has an impact on their personality, and it is up to us to educate and raise children who are safe and with good self-esteem.
At Atlantic Schools we are proud of our families. No child comes with a manual, but our families have shown that they have enough tools to successfully carry out the difficult and wonderful task of educating. There are two primary ingredients they always use: love and generosity.
So, we can not miss this day to congratulate all the fathers and mothers who are part of our community . We also want to take this opportunity to thank you for your understanding and support, now and always.
We end with this post from the Educate People website about the challenge that this situation is posing for many families and how we can turn this crisis into an opportunity.
