Internet safety and anti cyber bullying workshop

A workshop on the risks and consequences of cyberbullying was held last week at Atlantic School. The workshop was given by the young Irish singer Robbie J. White; who together with Patrick Fogarty, an educator specializing in Internet safety, have toured more than 250 educational centers in Europe and Latin America. The formula with which they work connects directly with adolescents through of songs in which they give indications of what you should never do when you are "online". Some of these indications are: do not give personal information (phone, home address, passwords, etc.), do not send personal photos of anyone in your environment, do not give passwords, do not meet anyone you know while browsing and if someone insults you or tells you things that bother you, let your parents know or teachers. During the workshop, several videos were also screened with examples of harassment on the Internet, which our students followed with interest and actively participated in the debate that was generated about the dangers of cyber bullying and the consequences of being hooked on the Internet for concentration, sleep and health for many hours.
