PISA Report Results

The Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) report evaluates every three years the knowledge and skills of approximately 540,000 15-year-old students from 72 countries in the areas of Reading, Mathematics and Science, although this year the main competition has been Science.
As explained by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, all the autonomous communities have expanded their sample to be able to collect data that is comparable at the international level. Therefore, "the sample from Spain is one of the richest internationally".
In the latest PISA report, Atlantic School exceeds the average of the Canary Islands, Spain, Europe and all OECD countries in Science, Reading and Mathematics.
The Atlantic School tested group scored as follows:
Science (561), above first country in the world, Singapore (556), Finland (536), the OECD (493) or Spain (493).
Reading (580), ahead of Singapore (535), Finland (521), Spain (496), or the average of all OECD countries (493).
Finally, Mathematics (532), equaling its average to the fifth country, Japan (532). At the top of the table, Singapore (564), Hong Kong-China (548), Macau-China (544) and China Taipei (542). Finland scored an average of 511. The OECD average was 490 and Spain 486.
"In the last 10 years, the Program for International Student Assessment has become the main global benchmark for evaluating the quality, equity and efficiency of education systems."-Angel Gurría, Secretary General of the OECD.
