A good occasion to encourage the habit of reading

"The book is strength, it is courage, it is food; torch of thought and spring of love", Rubén Darío.
Strength and encouragement is what we need these days to cope with this situation that we have had to live through. Situation from which, the most optimistic, begin to make a list of positive aspects that they are learning to value. Families have regained dialogue, they sit together at the table, play with the children and remain hopeful that we will soon be back to normal.
Atlantic Schools applauds the #YoMeQuedoEnCasaLeading initiative launched by publishers, platforms and authors. Undoubtedly, it is a good time to encourage the habit of reading at home. Books do not understand quarantine and can take us where the author proposes and where our imagination allows us to fly, as well which is a great opportunity to turn our children into great readers. Reading brings multiple advantages: it develops language skills, strengthens the capacity for attention and concentration, fosters curiosity and creativity, etc.
Creating a space and setting aside an afternoon or morning time to devote to reading can be a good option to include in the roadmap marked for each day. Also sharing what we are reading and what we plan to read can generate a good climate at home and will undoubtedly help us have a good time as a family.
Another option to encourage this highly recommended habit is to enjoy the storytelling that institutions, publishers and authors have launched during these days to make afternoons more entertaining for young and old.
A good insurance, we all have a good book at home, which until now due to lack of time we had not had the opportunity to enjoy. Happy reading and lots of encouragement!.
Remember also that we continue with the telematic attention to all our students and that tutors and teachers are by your side for what you need.
